Not just your mother's wipe dispenser!

Does anyone know those yarn containers with the notched holes in the top to keep your yarn from rolling away...well I've obtained one without going to the store and recycling something that I have around the house.  Before throwing them away, keep the plastic clorox wipe dispensers.  Rinse it out and take the label off.  I covered mine with scraps of scrapbook paper but you can decorate them however you want or leave them plain.  Then just thread the yarn through the top and it works like a dream and didn't cost anything!!!  I can't wait to finish my current box of wipes (it is a turquoise color) so that I can make another one.  I'm so handy!!!  One more tip...I was also able to put my work in the dispenser because it was a small project and I was using short double pointed needles...so it is easier to transport your yarn and projects in as well!!!

I would now like to share some of my better blankets...I stopped making them because I realized after making hats and socks that I am an instant gratification girl and blankets just don't do it for me. I went to the University of Central Florida for my Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice...our mascot is the pegasus...here is the blanket I made for our annual charity auction along with the purchaser...Angela, our former president of the co-ed fraternity I attended...Lambda Alpha Epsilon.I made this one for myself...this is my favorite Red Heart color...Dk Plum...but of course I can't find it anywhere local, I am also unwilling to pay 4 bucks for a ball of yarn that is acrylic no matter what color it is and I only have a tiny, itty bitty ball left for very special small projects.

I made this one for my boyfriend for his birthday...this is almost an exact replica of the guitar that he plays...the neck is a little longer on this one than his but the detail is amazing if I do say so myself. I made this Hello Kitty for one of my friends who loves Hello Kitty...I was really proud of this one when I finally finished.

I made these two for this years charity auction...they were much smaller but that way I was able to make two and get more money for the scholarship fund. I've made a few others that I've forgotten to get pictures of but they were equally amazing and get even more amazing with each passing design...I've made blankets that were one color or multiple colors but they were striped so they aren't as special as these are...I'm getting really good at it but they don't make me happy like socks and hats!

Alright, that enough gloating...I need to eat breakfast and get my day going...tata!

My first blog post...I never thought that I would ever make a blog but now that I've started knitting stuff other than blankets, I just want to share it with the world.
My very first hat...it was really exciting...never thought I'd make something other than blankets honestly cuz I never knew how to knit in a round and I never tried it until one day I had to make sleeves for Tootsies little blue jacket...and I didn't want seams cuz I was afraid that she would rip them out.
Then I made her this one which was a little longer, pink, and without sleeves so she could be cute and functional (the sleaves made it harder for her to walk)...so cute!!!
My latest project is these fuzzy slippers...I used three different kinds of yarn...I love red heart, but I also had this angel hair stuff from joann's and then the eyelash yarn from lionbrand. I made the straps a different color for extra cuteness and to make it a little different.
(Howie just woke up...we call him the king cuz he pretty much runs the house!) Alright time for bed cuz I am exhausted from putting a gas tank into my boyfriend's truck...yes I work on cars too...I love it!!!
